WhatsApp AI Chatbot

WhatsApp AI Chatbot for Business

In the Gulf, many customers would rather send a WhatsApp message than fill in a form or call. A WhatsApp AI chatbot answers the repetitive questions in English or Arabic at any hour, collects the details your team needs and hands the conversation to a person when it matters, all within WhatsApp's business rules.

This page is about one channel and the rules that come with it. The wider thinking about scope and guardrails is in our AI agents service, and the full range of systems is on the AI automation hub. Here we cover what a WhatsApp chatbot can realistically do, what Meta allows, and what to prepare before launch.

What It Does

What a WhatsApp Chatbot Can Handle

Six jobs that suit WhatsApp well:

❓

Common Questions

Opening hours, service areas, how to book, what documents to bring and other answers you have approved, in English and Arabic.

📝

Detail Collection

Name, need, location and preferred time are collected in a short conversation and passed to your team in a tidy summary.

📅

Appointment Requests

Offers times from your calendar and confirms the booking, with a reminder before the visit.

📍

Location and Directions

Shares your map pin or branch details. This works well with a strong Google Business Profile, where customers often tap the WhatsApp button.

🙋

Human Handoff

Complaints, urgent cases and requests for a person go straight to a named team member, with the chat history.

🔗

CRM Logging

Conversations and contact details are saved to your records through CRM automation, so follow-up does not depend on memory.

The Process

How We Set One Up

Account setup comes first because it controls what is possible.

1

Account & Number

We review your WhatsApp Business setup and the number to be used.

2

Script & Knowledge

We write the approved answers, the tone and the handoff rules.

3

Test

Real questions are tried in both languages, including awkward ones.

4

Launch & Tune

We start with limited traffic and improve answers from real chats.

Business account approval and message template review are handled by Meta and can add waiting time we do not control. A simple bot is often ready for testing within a few weeks. Contact us for a realistic plan.

WhatsApp's Rules Shape the Design

The WhatsApp Business app is meant for small teams chatting manually. Automated chatbots at scale use the WhatsApp Business Platform, which has its own conditions. Replies to customers are free-form within a customer service window after the customer's last message (24 hours at the time of writing); outside it, businesses generally need pre-approved message templates, and customers must have opted in to receive them.

Meta has also changed its terms so that general-purpose AI assistants are not allowed on the platform, while bots that serve a business's own customers, such as support and booking, remain the intended use. That is exactly how we design: a narrow bot with your information only. Rules and pricing change, so we check Meta's current terms during setup. For the larger picture of control, see business automation.

Fit

Is a WhatsApp Chatbot Right for You?

It works best where customers already message you.

A good fit if

  • You receive many repeat questions on WhatsApp.
  • Messages arrive outside office hours and wait for a reply.
  • Your answers can be written down and approved.
  • You have someone who can take over conversations.

What we will not do

  • Send bulk messages to people who did not opt in.
  • Pretend the bot is a human or hide that it is automated.
  • Let the bot quote prices or promises you have not approved.
  • Use unofficial tools that risk your number being banned.
Questions

WhatsApp Chatbot Questions

Channel-specific answers:

Not a general-purpose one. Meta's updated terms bar general-purpose AI chatbots from the Business Platform. A bot built to serve your own customers with your own information is allowed, which is what we build.

The app is for manual chatting with simple features such as quick replies. The platform is the route for automation and integrations, and it comes with approval, templates and per-message rules set by Meta.

After a customer messages you, you can reply freely for a limited window. To start a conversation or write after it closes, you use a template that Meta has approved and the customer has agreed to receive.

Modern language models handle Arabic text reasonably well, including Gulf wording, but we test with real messages from your customers. Voice notes and unusual dialect need separate testing, and we tell you what works before launch.

Often yes, but connecting a number to the platform has conditions that Meta changes from time to time, including how it works alongside the app. We check the current options and explain any trade-offs before touching your number.
